HOBOKEN, N.J. — Wiley (NYSE: WLY), a global leader in authoritative content and research intelligence for the advancement of scientific discovery, innovation, and learning, today announced a new publishing partnership with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS), the national voice for cardiovascular clinicians and scientists in Canada.
Founded in 1947, the CCS develops clinical practice guidelines, advances research, and shapes healthcare policy across Canada and beyond. Effective January 2027, Wiley will publish the Society's full journal portfolio: Canadian Journal of Cardiology, CCS's flagship hybrid title; and two gold open access journals, CJC Open and CJC Pediatric & Congenital Heart Disease.
This leading cardiovascular portfolio gives researchers, clinicians, and policymakers across Canada and around the world continued access to rigorous, peer-reviewed research alongside Wiley's global publishing technology, editorial infrastructure, and distribution network.
"Cardiovascular disease remains one of the most pressing challenges in global health, and the CCS has spent decades building and disseminating the evidence that guides how it's diagnosed and treated," said Jessica Kowalski, Wiley EVP & GM, Research. "We're proud to support the CCS's mission and help extend the reach of its research to clinicians, researchers, and health systems worldwide."
“The CCS welcomes this new publishing partnership, which reflects our shared commitment to advancing cardiovascular science, supporting clinicians and researchers, and delivering trusted, high-quality content to our members and the broader medical community,” said Dr. Sean Virani, President of the CCS Board of Directors.
The partnership adds a respected clinical program to Wiley's health sciences portfolio. As the world's leading society publisher, this agreement reflects the company's ongoing commitment to supporting societies as they grow their research impact through open access publishing, global distribution, and emerging technologies.
The CCS's journals are expected to be live on Wiley Online Library beginning January 2027.
