John Wiley and Sons, Inc. (NYSE:JWA)(NYSE:JWB) and OhioLINK, a
consortium of 91 Ohio college and university libraries, today announced
a new partnership that will reduce the cost of textbooks for students in
the state of Ohio. This collaboration around Inclusive
Access is part of Affordable Learning Ohio and will provide
participating students with digital course materials on the first day of
class, at savings upward of 40%. The program will increase the
affordability of course materials for 450,000 students across the state
of Ohio.
Gwen Evans, Executive Director of OhioLINK commented, “Wiley was
integral to the development of this program based on the long
relationship between OhioLINK and Wiley and our initial series of
exploratory discussions. Both OhioLINK and Wiley are committed to
driving down the costs of course materials and providing easy access
that will make a difference for students. We are excited to expand our
20-year partnership with Wiley to include textbook materials at
significantly reduced rates for the 450,000 students in the state of
Ohio.”
The Inclusive
Access program provides students with instant access to
WileyPLUS courseware and eTextbooks through their learning management
system. The program will provide day-one access to the required course
materials with students benefiting from the 40% saving. To meet this
commitment to Ohio students, Wiley worked closely with OhioLINK and key
partners of digital materials to fulfill WileyPLUS courseware and
eTextbooks online and through campus retailers.
“Wiley is proud to partner with OhioLINK to develop solutions that
reduce the cost of course materials for Ohio’s college students,” said
Joel Hollenbeck, VP of Sales, Wiley. “This partnership emphasizes
Wiley’s commitment to improving access, affordability and outcomes for
every student and to help them achieve their educational goals. My Wiley
colleagues and I are thrilled to be a part of this innovative program.”
