HOBOKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--John Wiley and Sons Inc., (NYSE:JW-A) (NYSE:JW-B), a global research and learning company and one of the world’s leading publishers, today announced that its President and CEO, Brian A. From its origins as a small Manhattan printing shop in 1807 to its present day worldwide reach, Wiley’s emphasis on the highest quality publishing and its commitment to customers have remained consistent. Wiley later became a leader in scientific, technical, medical and scholarly subject areas, publishing over 450 Nobel laureates. Over these 210 years, Wiley has been at the forefront of the industrial age, the technology age, and the present emergence of the knowledge-based economy. Wiley today is both one of America’s oldest public corporations and one of the world’s leading and most respected research and learning organizations.

“The history of Wiley is interwoven with American progress and the importance of knowledge and learning throughout the world,” said Jesse Wiley, Director and member of the seventh generation of the Wiley family. “For over two centuries, Wiley has been a constant force in all that knowledge has enabled –advances in science, technology, engineering, and education; breakthroughs in medicine; the Industrial Revolution, and today’s knowledge economies, which are powered by the ability of the individual to continuously learn. We thank all of those who helped get us here and look forward to all the great things we will do in the future.”

"I am honored to be leading a company that has been a platform for progress for 210 years,” said Brian A. Napack, President and CEO. “In today’s digital age, Wiley is more important than ever, putting critical tools and knowledge into the hands of researchers on the path to discovery, students on the path to more powerful learning, and professionals on their way to more productive careers.
